The 2026 season
Historic Lancaster Walking Tour, Corp. prints its season on both the homepage and the information page: April 1 to October 31, 2026, rain or shine. This page was written on October 22, 2026, in the last days of the published season. The site was still headed “2026 Season” and “Celebrating our 50th Year,” with “Established in 1976.” It did not list 2027 opening or closing dates. Use the operator site for next year’s calendar rather than assuming the same April 1 start.
The homepage also says “No Tours on June 6, 2026.” That closure is part of the 2026 record. It does not tell you which dates will be skipped in a later year.
The corporation describes itself as a 501c3 not-for-profit. The information page says all profits go to Lancaster City-based charities and nonprofits, and that the mission is low-cost tours with trained guides covering 300 years of the history of the city of Lancaster.
Times and prices
Departure times, in the site’s own wording, are “Tours Tuesdays–Saturdays at 1 PM” and “Tuesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays at 10 AM and 1 PM.” Read that as a 1 p.m. departure Tuesday through Saturday, with an added 10 a.m. departure on Tuesday, Friday, and Saturday. The information page says tours last at least 90 minutes. It does not publish a route map or a stop list.
2026 prices on the information page, checked October 22, 2026: Adult $10.00. Senior (65+) $8.00. Youth (5–18) $1.00. Child (below 5) free. Scheduled groups of 8 or more $8.00. The same page says credit cards are accepted, and “No Reservations taken or needed for daily tours.” Group tours and school tours are listed as available. The contact line asks you to write at least four weeks in advance, to HLWTour@gmail.com or (717) 392-1776. Nothing on those two pages says a private or school tour is offered in November, December, or January.
The meeting point is the lobby of the Lancaster Marriott and Convention Center, 25 S. Queen Street, Lancaster, PA 17603. One footer on the site spells the hotel “Marriot.” The information heading uses “Marriott.” Penn Square and Central Market are a short walk from that lobby. The homepage calls Central Market, established in 1730, the oldest public market in the United States. Market hours are on the Central Market page, not on the walking-tour site.
Who these booked walks are
The two tours in the section above are sold on Viator by other operators. They are not the $10 Historic Lancaster Walking Tour, Corp. departure, and they do not leave from the Marriott lobby. Both product pages are filed under Lancaster, Pennsylvania. A similarly named “Lancaster Walks” listing is a tour in Lancaster, England, so it is not linked here. A 45-minute private walk in Lititz also exists, but searches for November 15–30, 2026, December 1–20, 2026, January 5–20, 2027, and a February 2027 Lititz query did not return it, so it is left off this page.
Lancaster History and Craft Beer Walk is product 111259P7, operated by loKal Experiences. On October 22, 2026 Viator listed it from $89, about 150 minutes, meeting at 2 Penn Square and ending at Columbia Kettle Works 2nd Gear Taproom on N. Water Street. The age band is adult, 21 through 99, with a minimum of 2 travelers and a maximum of 14. Alcoholic beverages are included. The same details call the tour wheelchair accessible and say service animals are allowed. Viator’s cancellation note was a full refund when you cancel at least 24 hours before departure. The combined average shown that day was 4.98 from 52 reviews. Searches dated November 15–30, 2026 and December 1–20, 2026 returned the product. A search dated January 5–20, 2027 did not, so this is not a promise of dates through March.
Historic Lancaster Walking Tour with Breakfast is product 336112P5, operated by Unique Lancaster Experiences. On October 22, 2026 Viator listed it from $60, about 120 minutes, maximum 12 travelers, meeting at 38 Penn Square and ending at The Spice & Tea Exchange of Lancaster on W. Orange Street. Breakfast is included. Alcoholic beverages are excluded. Age bands on the product run from infant (1–3) through senior (65–85). The product text says it is “Lancaster’s only year-round Historic Walking Tour” and “The ONLY breakfast history tour in Pennsylvania,” and that it is vegetarian-friendly. Those sentences are the operator’s claims. A search for November 15–30, 2026 returned the product. Searches for December 1–20, 2026 and January 5–20, 2027 did not. Viator’s cancellation note was the same 24-hour full-refund window, and the product is also marked cancelable for bad weather or too few travelers. The combined average shown that day was 4.62 from 21 reviews.
