Sight & Sound Theatres Lancaster sits at 300 Hartman Bridge Road, Ronks, PA 17572, and the hotels worth comparing are the ones clustered on that same road, on Historic Drive in Strasburg, and a short drive north along Routes 896 and 30. This guide covers six properties whose addresses, pools, and published amenities were re-checked on October 22, 2026, plus four more addresses Discover Lancaster lists near the theatre. Distances below are straight-line miles between OpenStreetMap pins for the published street addresses, measured the same day. A driving route is a little longer. Two of the six hotels had a public rate that day, on the booking engine linked from the hotel’s own site. The other four did not. Every dollar figure below is a number that page showed, with the stay date when the page printed one. Nothing in the price column is an estimate.

The 2026 Lancaster show is JOSHUA, on stage March 14 through December 31, 2026. Plan the room around those dates. The theatre’s own ticketing page lists JOSHUA for Lancaster in 2026 and does not list a holiday production there. If you already hold tickets, book the hotel for the night of the performance and, if the curtain is in the evening, the night before so you are not driving in at the last minute. The box office number published on the show page is (800) 377-1277.

Quick answer: the closest hotels to Sight & Sound

Hershey Farm Resort is the walk-to-the-theatre option. Everyone else on this list is a short drive. Indoor pool is called out because it is the amenity families ask for on a show weekend, and it is not true of every hotel that sits close to the stage door. “Not published” means that hotel’s own site, and the brand or booking page linked from it, did not show a nightly dollar rate on October 22, 2026. A printed rate is the figure from that check, not a promise that the same number is still available on your dates.

Booking.com keeps a landmark page for the theatre that lists stays around it. See hotels near Sight & Sound on Booking.com. For a wider map of the county, start with the Lancaster hotels hub and the corridor-by-corridor where-to-stay guide.

Walk-to-the-theater option: Hershey Farm Resort

Hershey Farm Resort is at 240 Hartman Bridge Road (Route 896), Ronks, PA 17572, phone (800) 827-8635. The theatre is at number 300 on the same road. The two OpenStreetMap pins are about 0.2 miles apart in a straight line. Hotels.com, checked the same day, lists Sight & Sound as a 9-minute walk and 0.8 km from the resort, which matches a path that is longer than the straight line. Hershey Farm’s own ticket page says guests can skip the traffic and use a private drive or walk the trails up to the theatre. Discover Lancaster’s hotels-near-the-theatre page uses the same wording: take the walking path or private drive.

That is the practical reason to stay here. You are not timing a left turn onto Route 896 after the curtain. You are walking or taking the resort’s drive back to the room. The resort’s lodging page, checked October 22, 2026, says breakfast is included with the stay, the lobby is open 24 hours, and rooms include Wi-Fi, a Keurig, a mini refrigerator, and a microwave. The same page lists a restaurant, Café 23, two playgrounds, farm animals guests can feed, a catch-and-release fishing pond, and 23 acres with walking trails. It also says the restaurant and shops are closed on Mondays for lunch and dinner, so a Monday show night needs a dinner plan off the property. Miller’s Smorgasbord is the long-running Pennsylvania Dutch dining room in Ronks if you want that meal somewhere other than the resort.

The pool is not an indoor pool. The lodging page calls it an outdoor seasonal pool and, on October 22, 2026, said the outdoor pool was closed for the 2026 season. Do not book Hershey Farm because you want to swim in December. Book it because of the walk. Room types on the resort’s inn page include a deluxe king with a patio or balcony, two queens, a two-room suite, and a king suite. The resort’s homepage and lodging page do not publish a nightly dollar rate. Checked October 22, 2026, neither page showed a room price. Check Hershey Farm Resort rates on Booking.com.

A note on the name: this is Hershey Farm in Ronks, on Hartman Bridge Road. It is not a hotel in Hershey, Pennsylvania, and it is not next to the chocolate town’s theme park. If your trip is split between the theatre and Dutch Wonderland, the Route 30 hotels farther down this page sit closer to the park than this resort does.

Strasburg Historic Drive hotels

Historic Drive is the street just south of the theatre, in the borough of Strasburg. Two chain hotels sit on it. Both are a short drive up Route 896 to the theatre, and both put you in the railroad town rather than on the highway. The Strasburg attractions page covers the borough; the theatre itself is the Ronks listing at Sight & Sound Theatre, and the town page for the theatre’s address is things to do in Ronks.

Clarion Inn Strasburg – Lancaster

The Clarion Inn is at 1400 Historic Drive, Strasburg, PA 17579. Choice Hotels’ property page, checked October 22, 2026, gives the phone as (717) 983-4007 and check-in / check-out as 4:00 p.m. / 11:00 a.m. The straight-line distance from the theatre pin is 1.0 miles. Choice lists a free hot breakfast, a fitness center, and pet-friendly rooms. The pet rules on that page are specific: $20 per night, a maximum of two pets, up to 40 pounds each, with service animals exempt. The hotel is smoke-free. Children 18 and under stay free in the existing bedding, according to the same page. The property page shown for the night of October 22–23, 2026 was sold out and did not display a rate. That is the nightly rate on this check: not published.

The pool is outdoor, not indoor. Booking.com’s property description lists a seasonal outdoor swimming pool. The PA Dutch Hotels page for the inn names an outdoor heated pool, a fitness center, and a sauna, plus the Fireside Tavern restaurant. If an indoor pool is the reason for the trip, stay at the Holiday Inn Express farther down the same street instead. Check Clarion Inn Strasburg rates on Booking.com.

Holiday Inn Express & Suites Lancaster East – Strasburg

Holiday Inn Express & Suites Lancaster East – Strasburg is at 1900 Historic Drive, Strasburg, PA 17579, phone (717) 455-4700. The straight-line distance from the theatre is 1.2 miles, a tenth of a mile farther than the Clarion on the same road. IHG’s hotel page, checked October 22, 2026, says the hotel has one indoor pool and invites guests to use the indoor heated pool year-round. That is the verified indoor-pool pick on Historic Drive. The same page lists a free Express Start breakfast from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., complimentary parking (including bus, truck, trailer, and RV spaces), free Wi-Fi, a fitness center, and on-site electric-vehicle chargers. Pets are not allowed. There is no on-site restaurant and no complimentary local shuttle. Check-in is 3:00 p.m., check-out is 11:00 a.m., and the minimum check-in age is 21.

IHG’s hotel page and rooms page do not publish a dollar rate. Both were checked October 22, 2026, and neither showed a nightly price. Check Holiday Inn Express Strasburg rates on Booking.com. For a family that wants to swim on a cold show weekend and still be back on Route 896 in a few minutes, this is the Historic Drive hotel that matches the request. The Clarion is the one to call if you are traveling with a dog.

Family and themed stays

Two properties near the theatre are the ones people choose for the building itself: a motel made of cabooses, and a hotel built like a steamboat. Neither one is the walk from Hershey Farm. Both are close enough that a show night does not require a long drive across the county.

Red Caboose Motel & Restaurant

The Red Caboose Motel is at 312 Paradise Lane, Ronks, PA 17572, phone (717) 687-5000. The straight-line distance from the theatre pin is 2.1 miles, east of Strasburg toward Paradise. The motel’s site, paradisestation.us, checked October 22, 2026, says the property has 38 cabooses plus a baggage car, a mail car, a farmhouse, and a Conductor’s Quarters, and that guests book a caboose rather than a standard hallway room. Casey Jones’ Restaurant is on the property, in dining cars, and the site says it serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Discover Lancaster’s directory listing says you can watch Strasburg Rail Road steam engines go by the front porch. The motel’s published front-desk and gift-shop hours through December 31, 2026 are 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily.

Amenities named on the motel’s pages and on the Discover Lancaster listing include private baths, a microfridge, coffee makers, Wi-Fi, a playground, a petting zoo, a viewing tower, and a gift shop. One caboose is described as ADA accessible. The amenity list does not include a pool, indoor or outdoor. If swimming is non-negotiable, this is the wrong property even though the rooms are the most unusual ones near the theatre. The motel’s own pages do not publish a nightly dollar rate. The booking page linked from the site did not return a public price on October 22, 2026. Check Red Caboose Motel rates on Booking.com.

The railroad next door is the reason a lot of show trips add a second day. The Strasburg Rail Road and the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania sit a few minutes from Paradise Lane. A matinee at the theatre and a morning train is a full Ronks–Strasburg day without crossing the county. The things to do near the theatre guide lays out that cluster, and the trip-planning guide covers tickets and timing. Read the show dates in this article alongside those guides: the Lancaster stage calendar for 2026 is JOSHUA through December 31.

Fulton Steamboat Inn

Fulton Steamboat Inn is at 1 Hartman Bridge Road, at Routes 30 and 896, Lancaster, PA 17602, phone (717) 299-9999. The straight-line distance from the theatre is 1.7 miles, north along Route 896 toward the Lincoln Highway. Discover Lancaster’s listing describes it as two miles from the theatre, which is the driving description rather than the straight line. The building is the point: the inn is constructed like a Victorian steamboat, with nautical rooms, and it sits on the same Hartman Bridge Road the theatre uses, just at the Route 30 end.

The inn’s amenities page, checked October 22, 2026, lists a heated indoor pool and whirlpool with a depth of 3 to 5 feet and an adult swim, a fitness center, a game room, an outdoor playground, a duck and koi pond with a walking trail, a gift shop, and Huckleberry’s Restaurant and Tavern. Free Wi-Fi is listed. That indoor pool is the reason families pick it over the closer Hershey Farm stay in months when the outdoor pool is closed. The same Route 30 corridor holds Dutch Wonderland, so a two-night trip can put the show on one day and the park on the other without changing hotels. The inn’s guest-room pages do not print a nightly rate. The “Reserve a Room” link on fultonsteamboatinn.com opens a Cloudbeds booking engine (hotels.cloudbeds.com, property code SvxkRU). On October 22, 2026, that engine returned base rates of $229.95, $239.95, and $249.95 before tax for the night of November 10, 2026, checking out November 11, for two adults. The response did not include room names, so those prices are not assigned here to a king or a double queen. They are that night’s base rates, not a year-round card. Check Fulton Steamboat Inn rates on Booking.com.

Bird-in-Hand base, and other addresses near Route 30

AmishView Inn & Suites is the Route 340 stay, not a Ronks walk. The address is 3125 Old Philadelphia Pike (Route 340), Bird-in-Hand, PA 17505, phone (866) 735-1600. The straight-line distance to the theatre is 3.8 miles. You drive it. What you get, on the hotel’s own pages checked October 22, 2026, is an indoor heated pool and whirlpool open 6:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m., a 24-hour fitness center, and a 24-hour arcade. The hotel says it charges no resort fee, and that parking, Wi-Fi, pool and fitness access, and breakfast are included. Children under 14 must be with an adult in the pool, and guests 17 and under are not permitted in the spa. A guest-room key is required for the pool. Discover Lancaster’s near-the-theatre blurb also says kitchenettes are in every room.

Stay at AmishView when the trip is really an Amish Country trip that happens to include a show: buggy rides and family-style meals along Route 340, then a drive down to Ronks for the curtain. The Amish Farm and House is the long-running farm tour in that part of the county. A half day there before an evening show is a reasonable shape for a first visit, and the Lancaster with kids guide is the wider family plan if the pool and the show are sharing the weekend with a theme park. The hotel’s room pages do not print a nightly dollar rate. The book-now link on amishviewinn.com goes to gettaroom.b4checkin.com/amishviewinn. On October 22, 2026, that engine’s Online Rate for arrival November 10 and departure November 11, 2026, two adults and one room, showed a Double Queen at $194 before tax, $21.34 tax, and $215.34 total. The same night’s other room charges, before tax, were $214 for a Deluxe Double Queen and for a Double Queen, ADA Accessible room, $244 for a Grand King (18+) and for a Grand King ADA Accessible (18+) room, $274 for a Studio Suite, $304 for a One Bedroom Suite and for a One Bedroom Suite, ADA Accessible, $354 for a Deluxe One Bedroom Suite, $414 for the Two Bedroom Suite (Room 312), and $464 for the Deluxe Two Bedroom Suite (Room 309). Those are that night’s Online Rates, not a year-round card. Check AmishView Inn & Suites rates on Booking.com.

Discover Lancaster’s “hotels near Sight & Sound” page, checked October 22, 2026, also lists four properties this guide is not booking through, because a Booking.com property URL was not verified for them here. Addresses only:

  • La Quinta Inn & Suites, 25 Eastbrook Road (Route 896), Ronks, PA 17572
  • Sleep Inn & Suites, 2869 Lincoln Highway East (U.S. Route 30), Ronks, PA 17572
  • Eastbrook Inn, 21 Eastbrook Road, Ronks, PA 17572
  • The Barn at Strasburg Bed & Breakfast, 308 Miller Street, Strasburg, PA 17579

The three Ronks addresses sit up by Route 30 and Eastbrook Road, the familiar-brand strip north of the theatre. The Barn at Strasburg is a three-room bed and breakfast on Miller Street; Discover Lancaster says it is less than two miles from the theatre and that the rooms have private baths. This page does not repeat amenity or price claims for these four, because those claims were not re-checked on each hotel’s own site. If a lower rate is the goal, compare your dates on those hotels’ own sites. This guide does not rank them.

Planning around the 2026 show

JOSHUA is the Lancaster production from March 14 through December 31, 2026. The show page says the runtime is about 2 hours and 30 minutes, including a 20-minute intermission. Adult tickets, ages 13 and up, are shown at $82–$104. Children’s tickets, ages 2–12, are shown at $44. Those figures are the prices printed on sight-sound.com/shows/joshua on October 22, 2026, not a promise that every seat on every date is still in that band. Groups of 15 or more are pointed to a group-visits page for discounts. A filmed version, JOSHUA—Live!, is listed as coming to movie theatres beginning October 30, 2026. That screening is separate from a seat in Ronks. If you want the live animals and the 300-foot stage, you still need a Lancaster ticket and a room.

There is not a holiday production on the Lancaster calendar for 2026. Miracle of Christmas is the Branson, Missouri show, November 3 through December 31, 2026. The Branson page shows a runtime of about 2 hours and 20 minutes, adult tickets at $59–$79, and children’s tickets at $34. The Lancaster ticketing page lists JOSHUA for 2026 and Jonah for 2027. Do not book a December room in Ronks on the assumption that a holiday title is playing there. Book it because JOSHUA is scheduled through December 31, and confirm the performance date on your ticket.

If the December plan was a drive-through light display, Hershey Sweet Lights is not returning in 2026. The dated replacements, including Hersheypark Christmas Candylane and the Lancaster County drive-throughs, are on the Hershey Sweet Lights 2026 page.

For the holiday park on Lincoln Highway East, dates, hours, and ticket prices are on the Dutch Winter Wonderland guide.

Arrival is not a five-minute errand. The refund policy on sight-sound.com says to arrive 45 minutes before the scheduled show time. Doors close at the start. Late arrivals are not guaranteed a seat until intermission, may be moved, and are not refunded. The lots are large. If anyone in the party walks slowly, leave the hotel earlier than the 45-minute mark so parking and the doors do not eat the buffer. Hershey Farm’s private drive is the one arrival that skips Route 896 traffic; every other hotel on this list should budget the drive plus the 45 minutes.

A workable two-night shape: night one near the theatre, morning at the Strasburg trains or a Route 340 farm tour, evening show, night two in the same room so you are not checking out before the curtain. A one-night trip works when the show is a matinee and you can drive home after, or when you arrive the afternoon before an evening performance. Midweek dates are when the Historic Drive and Route 30 hotels are easier to find; the hotel sites do not publish a calendar of which nights sell out, so treat a held theatre ticket as the moment to reserve the room.

Sunday planning needs a separate check of the performance calendar. This guide does not assert a weekly dark day, because the JOSHUA page lists a date range rather than a weekday closure. If your only free day is Sunday, confirm that a performance is actually scheduled before you book a non-refundable room.

How to choose

Choose Hershey Farm when the walk, the trails, or the private drive is the point, and you do not need an indoor pool. Choose Holiday Inn Express on Historic Drive when you want an indoor heated pool within about 1.2 miles and you are not traveling with a pet. Choose the Clarion, one lot closer on the same street, when you need a pet room or you are fine with a seasonal outdoor pool. Choose the Red Caboose when the caboose room and the steam trains are the memory you want, and a pool is not. Choose Fulton Steamboat Inn when you want the indoor pool and a Route 30 base between the theatre and Dutch Wonderland. Choose AmishView when the farmland along Route 340 is the base and a 3.8-mile drive to the curtain is acceptable.

Where this guide prints a dollar figure, it is the figure an official page or the hotel’s own booking engine showed on October 22, 2026, for the dates named with it. Hershey Farm, the Clarion Inn, Holiday Inn Express, and the Red Caboose had no public nightly rate that day, and this page does not guess one. Read the total for your dates before you compare hotels. The six links above are the property pages. The landmark link is the wider list. Both go through the same Awin deep link this site uses for every Booking.com stay.

Frequently asked questions

Can you walk to Sight & Sound from a hotel?

Hershey Farm Resort, at 240 Hartman Bridge Road in Ronks, is the hotel that publishes a walk. Its site says guests can use a private drive or trails up to the theatre. OpenStreetMap pins for the two addresses are about 0.2 miles apart in a straight line, measured October 22, 2026. Hotels.com lists Sight & Sound as a 9-minute walk (0.8 km). The other hotels in this guide are a short drive, not a walk. Clarion Inn and Holiday Inn Express sit on Historic Drive in Strasburg, about 1.0 and 1.2 miles away in a straight line.

Which nearby hotels have an indoor pool?

Three of the six hotels in this guide list an indoor pool on an official page checked October 22, 2026. Holiday Inn Express & Suites Lancaster East – Strasburg says it has one indoor heated pool. Fulton Steamboat Inn lists a heated indoor pool and whirlpool, 3 to 5 feet deep. AmishView Inn & Suites lists an indoor heated pool and whirlpool, open 6:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. Hershey Farm’s pool is outdoor and seasonal, and its lodging page said that outdoor pool was closed for the 2026 season. Clarion Inn Strasburg’s Booking.com listing describes a seasonal outdoor swimming pool, and its PA Dutch Hotels page names an outdoor heated pool. The Red Caboose Motel’s own amenity list does not include a pool.

Is there a Christmas show in Lancaster in 2026?

No. Sight & Sound’s 2026 Lancaster show is JOSHUA, on stage March 14 through December 31, 2026. The theatre’s ticketing page lists JOSHUA under Lancaster for 2026. Miracle of Christmas runs in Branson, Missouri, from November 3 through December 31, 2026. On the Branson show page, adult tickets are shown at $59–$79 and children’s tickets at $34.

How early should you arrive for a Sight & Sound show?

Sight & Sound’s refund policy says to plan on arriving 45 minutes before the scheduled show time. Theatre doors close at the start of the show, and late seating is not guaranteed until intermission. A late arrival can be seated somewhere other than the purchased seats, at the house manager’s discretion, and the policy says there are no refunds for late arrivals. The box office phone is (800) 377-1277.

Where should you look for a lower hotel rate near the theatre?

On October 22, 2026, two of the six hotels had a public figure and four did not, so this page does not rank a lowest price. Fulton Steamboat Inn’s booking engine showed base rates of $229.95, $239.95, and $249.95 before tax for the night of November 10, 2026. AmishView Inn & Suites’ booking engine showed an Online Rate that night from $194 before tax for a Double Queen ($215.34 with tax) to $464 before tax for a deluxe two-bedroom suite. Hershey Farm Resort, Clarion Inn Strasburg, Holiday Inn Express Strasburg, and the Red Caboose Motel did not publish a nightly rate on the pages checked that day. The addresses Discover Lancaster lists along Route 30 and Eastbrook Road in Ronks — La Quinta Inn & Suites, Sleep Inn & Suites, and Eastbrook Inn — are the familiar-brand cluster a short drive north of the theatre. Rates move with the date. JOSHUA runs through December 31, 2026, including weeks when many travelers expect a separate holiday production in Lancaster. Book the dates on your tickets, and read the total for those dates before you compare hotels.

How far is AmishView Inn & Suites from the theatre?

About 3.8 miles in a straight line between the OpenStreetMap pins for 3125 Old Philadelphia Pike in Bird-in-Hand and 300 Hartman Bridge Road in Ronks, measured October 22, 2026. It is a drive, not a walk. The reason to stay there is the Route 340 farmland base: an indoor pool, a complimentary breakfast, and no resort fee, according to the hotel’s own site.

What are JOSHUA ticket prices and how long is the show?

On sight-sound.com/shows/joshua, checked October 22, 2026, JOSHUA runs March 14 through December 31, 2026. The runtime is about 2 hours and 30 minutes, including a 20-minute intermission. Adult tickets (ages 13 and up) are shown at $82–$104. Children’s tickets (ages 2–12) are shown at $44. The Lancaster theatre address on that page is 300 Hartman Bridge Road, Ronks, PA 17572.
